Fraxel® Dual is a revolutionary laser treatment that effectively targets both the skin’s surface and deeper layers to create a smoother, fresher, younger appearance.
Fraxel laser treatment delivers results you can see and feel. This non-ablative (doesn’t injure the surface of your skin) laser is the gold standard in skin rejuvenation.
How Does Fraxel Laser Treatment Work?
Fraxel laser treatment works by utilizing dual lasers with frequencies that reach the skin’s epidermis and dermis layers. The laser penetrates the damaged skin, stimulates collagen, and encourages new healthy skin cells to grow. All this works to improve skin texture and provide younger-looking skin.
The procedure requires topical numbing cream to be applied to the treatment site at least 1 hour before the procedure. During the skin resurfacing process, which lasts about 25 minutes, a jet stream of cold air is used to enhance patient comfort.
Most men and women experience results after one treatment. Additional treatments can be used for enhanced results.
Plan for 7-10 days of healing after Fraxel laser treatment. The first 2 days after treatment you will experience redness and swelling. During days 3-5, a gray/brown scaling will develop on the skin. Stay out of the sun and apply a mineral-based sunscreen for protection. Expect to see results 2-4 weeks after treatment.

What Does Fraxel Laser Treatment Do?
Fraxel treatment improves skin texture and tone by reducing unwanted wrinkles, acne scar texture, sunspots, and discoloration, including melasma (the mask of pregnancy). This type of laser skin resurfacing treatment is commonly performed on the face, neck, chest, and hands—but the treatment is safe anywhere on the body.
This aggressive yet remarkably safe procedure will allow you to have smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin and a new, visible tone and texture, without unwanted brown spots that help illuminate your inner beauty.
Lessen the Appearance of Scars & Stretchmarks
Scars are created when either surgery or an injury damages the skin. The skin heals by forming new skin cells and collagen fibers to heal the damaged area. In some instances, the body produces too much collagen that leaves the raised scar appearance.
Similarly, stretch marks occur when the skin is stretched beyond its elastic ability. These are treated like a scar since a stretch mark causes an exterior appearance and color changes around the marks.
Fraxel laser treatments are the best procedure to minimize the appearance of displeasing surgical scars. This type of skin rejuvenating treatment increases collagen production by stimulating the dermis layer and stimulating new cellular growth on the epidermis to smooth out the top of the scar and stretch marks.
Smooth Out Wrinkles & Fine Lines
As people age, the layers of skin start to change too. The epidermis layer starts to weaken, and wrinkles appear, typically around the eyes (Crows Feet), neck (Venus Rings), lip, forehead (both horizontal and vertical), and chest. Fraxel treatment can rejuvenate the collagen to help return that youthful glow and reduce aging signs by diminishing wrinkles’ appearance.
Improve the Tone and Texture of Skin & Eliminate Brown Spots
Over time, skin textures can change and become rough and less firm. Fraxel laser treatments treat the skin’s epidermis layer, causing the skin to rejuvenate and create new, healthier skin cells improving the skin tone and texture to a more youthful appearance.
It is common for “brown spots” to occur on the skin, mostly caused by hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is an excess of melanin, the pigment that gives people their hair and skin color. The more melanin, the darker the hair and skin. Fraxel breaks up the cluster of melanin and reduce the appearance of brown spots.

Reduce the Appearance of Acne Scarring
Fraxel laser treatments are a common way to tackle acne scarring. Acne scars are formed in the second layer of the skin called the dermis. The most common types of acne scars are:
- Rolling Scar: These scars are formed by extra tissue production after the acne started to heal, leaving a rolling appearance on top of the skins.
- Boxcar Scar: These scars are formed from the breakdown and have a less aggressive look than an ice pick scar. They can become permanent if not treated due to the increased breakdown of collagen and the loss of elastic in the skin.
- Ice Pick Scar: The most common of acne scars. These scars are deep and narrow like the skin was poked with the tip of an ice pick. In some instances, they heal by themselves, but it can take years to see them shrink.
Fraxel laser for acne scarring focuses on the acne scar and stimulates the skin to create more collagen and rebuild its elasticity.
How many Fraxel treatments for acne scars should I expect?
Most people can see results within the first 2 treatments. Your doctor will work with you to determine the right number of treatments for your specific situation.
