We use Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology for laser hair reduction treatments, utilizing an FDA-approved device called cynosure for permanent hair reduction. The device creates light energy, which is then absorbed into the targeted hair’s melanin (dark pigment) to ultimately damage the hair follicle. This light travels through the skin until it strikes the hair shafts or the bulb (root). The bulb is usually where the highest concentration of melanin is located. 

As the light is absorbed, the bulb and most of the hair shaft are heated, destroying the hair-producing papilla. Hair growth is safely reduced without damaging the surrounding tissue.

From there, you’ll need to prepare the area. 6-8 weeks before your treatment, stop waxing and tweezing the area as it disrupts the hair-growth cycles. You can continue to shave or begin to shave the area if you haven’t yet done so. We recommend avoiding exfoliating or using products with AHA or BHA’s and retinols on the treated area (alpha or beta hydroxy acids). Also, sunscreen is a must!
