Brian Matthys, DO
Dr. Matthys, DO, founded Sunflower Dermatology and Medical Day Spa in 2004 and partnered with Epiphany Dermatology in January 2021. He received a Human Biology Degree from the University of Kansas and completed medical school at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dr. Matthys is a member and past president of Kansas City Dermatologic Society. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Photobiology, and the American Society for Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Matthys is a participant of Northland Healthcare Access. He is the co-founder of Fair and Fashionable™, a charitable organization created to transform the belief that tanned skin is healthy, beautiful and in-style. He is the creator of eco-sport®, AVOIDTHEBURN®, and EclipseRX®.
Dr. Matthys is the senior advisor for North America for First Derm, powered by iDoc24, a digital health company using tele-dermatology to increase the availability of board certified dermatologic care to the world. He is also the creator of “Discussion” the podcast.
Dr. Matthys is happily married to Dr. Menser. Together they have a daughter (Elsie) and son (William). He enjoys travel, guitar and antique cars.
